HDL CHOLESTEROL

HDL cholesterol: HDL cholesterol is also known as “good” cholesterol.
Specimen collection: For HDL cholesterol assay, blood should be collected in a clean, dry container. Fasting blood is preferred.
Specimen preservation: HDL-cholesterol in serum is stable for 24 hours when stored at 2-8 °C and 30 days when stored at -20 °C.
HDL cholesterol PPT test: The test requires 50 µL of sample volume and takes 5 minutes.
